From Israel Hayom: Trump 'seriously considering' moving US Embassy to Jerusalem, Pence says U.S. Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday revived talk of the possibility of the United States moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, saying President Donald Trump is seriously considering the matter. "After decades of simply talking about it, the president of the United States is giving serious consideration to moving the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem," Pence told the influential American Israel Public Affairs Committee at its annual policy conference in Washington. There is no doubt that the talk from this administration about Israel is far, far warmer than anything we had ever heard from the Obama White House. But Pence's statement about the embassy is literally meaningless. "Thinking about it" may be more than any previous administration did but in the end it is the same effect as long as the embassy remains in a place that is not Israel's capital. After a clear-cut campaign promise from someone who says that he keeps his promises, this isn't exactly a strong message from the administration. The important question is whether Trump will sign the waiver for Congress' demand that the embassy be moved – the waiver that every president has signed every six months since the Jerusalem  Embassy Act in 1995.
